Ancient Murano vase amphora in iridescent blue blown glass – Italy

This superb vase is made of iridescent blue blown glass. Shaped like an ancient amphora, it is a Roman-style vase - a production from Murano in Italy. In the Venetian glassmaking tradition, this vase is made of lustrous blue blown glass, featuring a swollen shape, a flared neck, and hot-applied handles. It is a handcrafted piece, mouth-blown, showing the mark of the blowing rod, and the edge of the neck is rolled. This pitcher vase has bubbles in the glass and a sort of whitish deposit on the sides. In generally good condition, I note discreet signs of use. This vase measures 16.5 cm in height and 7.5 cm in diameter.
