Rare: superb LEVASSEUR trade furniture (circa 1900). In solid wood.

Magnificent patina, superb functionality and traditional construction, this file and folder cabinet from the levasseur brand is a little marvel that comes to us from the late 19th - early 20th century. We notice its deep patina, its solid wood on all sides and this upper cornice typical of its time. It is composed of several elements, entirely removable, including a base of 4 thick feet, slightly flared at the level of the apron for the style, which accommodates the first module of two large file drawers. The solid wood front is decorated with label holders and black metal handles. Like the cosmos filing cabinet, from the same period, it offers an ingenious bearing system that allows the drawers to be pulled out in their entirety to access the files at the back without the risk of it tipping over under its weight! Above, there is a tray, which serves as a file rest, on which two rows of small drawers are fitted. Two of them bear the lafiche logo, which echoes levasseur's super aesthetic design: stylized red letters on a black background in a circle. Magical. The three bottom drawers benefit from an automatic locking system: the right drawer, pushed all the way in, blocks the other two. The key that allowed the right drawer to be closed has disappeared, but the lock is still present. Finally, the upper shelf, with its beautiful worked cornice, tops it all off. Both imposing and light, very practical and functional, it can be used as a storage unit or in an entrance hall, thanks to its "secretary" side.
