Mid-Century Table Lamp Type 1624 by Josef Hurka for Napako, 1960s

Vintage design. Very rare tripod table lamp by Napako based on a design by Josef Hurka. This design thrives on the contrast between the lampshade and the base. The frame, with its technical language, is opposed by a decorative lampshade. The slender frame of the lamp is finished in red. At the bottom of the three legs are solid brass feet. A striking detail is the switch. Using a simple mechanism with a long lever, the lamp's push switch can also be operated under the lampshade. The lampshade features a pleated fold and is directly connected to the bulb. The original lampshade shows several damages. Similar pleated lampshades for replacement are commercially available. However, this is mainly to preserve the original condition for collectors.
