Pair of Saint-Clément candlesticks in glazed ceramic. France, 1960s-1970s. Original pair of glazed ceramic candlesticks in variegated brown, made by the Saint-Clément factory. Each candlestick takes the stylised form of a female figure with raised arms supporting two candle holders, inspired by folk art and the decorative Scandinavian and modernist creations of the second half of the 20th century. The moulded decoration highlights the details of the costume, the chevrons of the dress, and the features of the face, enhanced by a beautiful caramel brown glaze with darker nuances. Their graphic silhouette and sculptural presence make them particularly sought-after decorative objects. Condition. Very good overall condition.
