Here is a very pretty enamelled earthenware soup tureen (most likely puisaye stoneware) whose shape, very "pot-bellied" is particularly original, while being very harmonious. The enamelling in soft, natural tones: pinkish beige, light caramel with white "drips", is charming. And a small, very studied detail: the "dropping" handle of the lid which recalls the handles of the soup tureen while integrating perfectly with the lid to avoid being too fragile or seeming like an added piece. All this bears witness to a beautiful artisanal work of turning, shaping and enamelling. I am even very surprised that it is not signed, because it looks a lot like the ceramics of pierre lion who produced, in addition to more artistic pieces, utilitarian tableware with this deliberately rustic aspect, highlighting "the handmade" until 1978 when his workshop closed. This soup tureen probably dates from the 50s to 70s when these natural colours were very fashionable. It is in perfect condition, not even a chip, it has probably never been used. It measures 26.5 cm in width from one handle to the other, approximately 24 cm in maximum diameter, 13.5 cm in height and approximately 17.5 cm in height with the lid.
