Round table by Marcel Gascoin for Alvéole, 1950

Pure product of post-war french modernism, this pretty table was designed by marcel gascoin and edited by alvéole. Its sober design tends elegantly towards an essential and functional form. The thinness of the base and the space between the black metal deck and the top give an aerial effect, as if suspended. Marcel gascoin offers a design that lightens traditional furniture and opens new lines and perspectives in interiors. The table is typical of marcel gascoin's work. Base and apron are made of black painted metal. The whole is functional in good condition. Plus: the table is modular, the extension is present.
