It is a reproduction engraver specializing mainly in portraits and historical scenes. Peter of cortona is the designer of this composition in the pitti palace and is an italian painter and architect of the 17th century. It is defined as belonging to the early baroque movement. He is best known for his fresco work. His most famous work is "the triumph of divine providence" also called "the glory of the barbirini". His work in the venus room is a tribute to the medici.
