Set of 6 blown glass champagne flutes, French production, circa 1950. The line is sharp. A tall, slightly conical bowl that naturally directs the gaze towards the stem. The stem is crafted in a twisted design with irregular reliefs, evidence of a still manual shaping process. No foot is strictly identical, and this is precisely where the interest of the set lies. Contrast is central in this series: transparency of the foot, colour of the bowl. Each glass develops its own tone — pink, blue, green, amber, red — creating a coherent polychrome composition without being uniform. Dimensions: Height 16 cm. Diameter 6 cm. Height of the bowl 10.5 cm. These flutes are designed for champagne or sparkling wines, but their presence goes beyond mere use. They structure a table, bring rhythm, and avoid the “standardised service” effect. This is domestic glassware from the 1950s that still embraces a degree of irregularity. It is this that gives them a sense of life. A set that works equally well in service as in decorative composition.
