Villedieu hammered copper pot vase with handles, 20th century

This large, shiny copper jar vase with double handles is a beautiful vintage piece of French craftsmanship from Villedieu-les-Pœurs (renowned worldwide for its copper creations, from tableware to church bells). Its hammered finish catches and reflects the light, in contrast with the smooth appearance of the neck and the impressive handles on each side. The container is ideal for making beautiful, low, rounded bouquets. Very decorative as a welcome basket warming up an entrance, with its coppery pink color, or as a centerpiece in a country style. Below, the stamp with the coat of arms of the city specifies varnished copper, Villedieu. In beautiful vintage condition, patina of time with some scratches and just a small dent under the base (see close-up photo). Dimensions: height with handles 22 cm, width from handle to handle 42 cm, diameter of the vase 25 cm (external neck 15 - internal 9 cm).
