Lavender lucite cantilever chair, a rare piece signed by Michel Dumas for Atelier Michel Dumas, made in France in the 1970s. Designed in thick, particularly dense and durable smoked lucite, in a soft lavender hue. The model is referred to as cantilever, meaning it rests on a cantilevered base, without a back leg, which gives the seat a slight natural flexibility and a "suspended" silhouette, very characteristic of 1970s design. In generally good condition: some scratches and signs of wear, particularly on the leg (see photos). An object that is as much a sculpture as it is furniture. No label present.
