Louis houzeaux tin oil lamp les etains d'art du chevalier this elegant kerosene lamp with flared base was handcrafted in the workshops of french master goldsmith louis houzeaux, specialist in pewter pottery since the beginning of the 19th century louis houzeaux is the founder of etains d’art du chevalier. The original label is still present. Made entirely of tin alloy and guaranteed lead-free, it is basically made up of a kerosene tank. Above, a long, glowing glass chimney to protect the flaming wick. We appreciate here the sober elegance of the tin which transforms the lamp into a very contemporary decoration. Good condition, patina and normal wear. There are four hallmarks on the base – the mark "etain" 94%, a knight's feathered helmet with the initials "lh" the letter "l". The lamp is in excellent vintage condition, however it has two very slight dents on the tank. It has a very nice patina and a good weight.
