Art Deco vase from the Moser workshop, designed by Joseph Hoffmann in Czechoslovakia in the 1930s, made of solid, hand-formed crystal with a saturated honey-amber colour. The proportions of the vessel are balanced, typical of Hoffmann's designs: a compact, hexagonal base transitions into a faceted, slightly flared body topped with a wide, rounded rim. Each facet is precisely polished, and the entire surface is highly polished, emphasising the transparency and depth of the glass colour. The vase is free of additional decorative applications – the whole is based on the rigorous geometry of the form and the quality of the material, fitting into the modernist Art Deco doctrine. The glass structure shows no admixtures or damage, and the shine and clarity suggest careful use and storage. Preserved in very good condition – the surface is free of losses, cracks or visible scratches, with full brilliance and colour saturation. This vase seems to tell the story of interwar Europe, when architecture and art met on a new, sophisticated level. The faceted form, reminiscent of the harmonious geometry of modernism, plays with light like an old film – each edge catches a ray and breaks it into shimmering, golden reflections embedded in the honey interior of the glass. In Hoffmann's design, we find both rigour and a soft, subtle narrative: the form suggests strength and weight, but is pierced by a quiet luminosity, as if the crystal carries the memory of a spring afternoon from almost a century ago. The designer seems to whisper that even the simplest form can become a pretext for a play of light – a story of quiet luxury that does not require ornaments. In the living room, the vase can function as a solitaire on a console, marble top or by the window – daylight will bring out the full amber tones. It is worth combining it with other objects from the era: a geometric lamp, mirrors in chrome frames or black glass, creating a scenography in the spirit of Art Deco. For collectors and design lovers, the Hoffmann vase will also work as a central point of display next to smooth ceramics or modern graphics – it will easily fit into eclectic, modern or minimalist spaces, emphasising the role of light and form. No technical data from the manufacturer regarding dimensions or care. Moser crystal glass is known for its high transparency and abrasion resistance. It is recommended to care for it using a soft, dry cloth intended for glass.
