Neoclassical lamp in alabaster and gilded bronze – Height 30cm

Elegant neoclassical style table lamp, 30 cm high and 22 cm in diameter, resting on a square base in natural alabaster, with a shaft in the shape of an antique amphora. The alabaster, recognizable by its translucent appearance and cloudy veins, gives the whole a soft and luminous texture, very different from the denser and crystalline marble. The neck, the base and the magnificent side handle in gilded bronze cast in the shape of a swan or a stylized creature evoke the typical ornaments of the Empire style, reinterpreted here in a decorative vein specific to the end of the 19th century. The whole is topped with a pleated lampshade decorated with golden braid and a textile fringe that reinforces its refined character. This lamp is perfectly functional.
