Flower mirror by mithé espelt (1923-2020) precisely shaped to evoke the delicate splendor of a flower (we'll let you find the variety...) it brings a joyful and poetic touch to any space where it is hung. Mithé's work resonates with colorful poetry, sparkling with joy. From blue to pastel pink, including greens, the artist's universe borrows sometimes from tropical gardens and sometimes from solar stars. Its refined mirrors demonstrate great technical mastery by playing on cracked gold and enamels. To obtain these color effects, up to nine operations and generally four firings are necessary. This artist did not want to sign her creations to keep her freedom and simplicity, they are nevertheless often recognizable by the felt, most often green, which covers the back of her pieces. Additional information: – dimensions: h36 X width 32 cm – designer: mithé espelt – period: 20th century – material: ceramic, glass and gold – condition: very good condition, tiny marks on the silvering of the mirror should be noted, but nothing detrimental to the aesthetics of the object, the felt on the back is in good condition mithe espelt is a fascinating figure in the world of contemporary art. As a female artist at that time, her work took on particular significance in a field often dominated by men. Espelt helped break gender stereotypes and open new avenues for women artists.
