Brutalist coffee table in elm magnifying glass

This tripod coffee table is made of elm magnifying glass, a very particular wood and sought after in cabinetmaking from an outgrowth formed on the trunk of a tree, here an elm, due to difficulties in the circulation of sap, due to frost for example. This is a piece all the more rare as almost all the elms disappeared in france. This table is spectacular in that the original block, visible under the table, is present almost entirely and has simply been cut to form a tray. This rare and decorative piece dates from the 70s.
