Jug - Royal Delft

Beautiful Delft earthenware pitcher from the Koninklijke Porceleyne Fles (Royal Delft) factory, Netherlands, founded in 1653. The pitcher is entirely hand-painted in cobalt blue under glaze, on a glossy white background. The neck is adorned with a stylized butterfly motif with scrolls. The rounded body features a rich floral decoration: peonies, flowers, and foliage in shades of blue, with a small butterfly and stars. The base is highlighted with friezes (waves, dots). The handle is tall and elegant, with a blue trim. Marks on the reverse: Blue and silver label "Koninklijke Porceleyne Fles – Anno 1633" with a crown, hand-painted monogram of the factory in blue, signature "Delft, " model number "5004, " and painter/dating marks.
