This is a beautiful and rare original framed print from the 1960s of 'loch karron' by alan b charlton. Alan bengal charlton was a british artist (1913 - 1981). Born in north shields, charlton studied art in newcastle and at the press art school in london. He lived and worked in northumberland and was a keen artist. He painted northern landscapes, notably of northumberland, cumberland and scotland. This is a painting of the very picturesque loch karron in scotland. This print is printed on cardstock and is housed in a typical mid-century wooden frame, with a wide green border. Hooks are attached using what looks like a clothesline to hang it up. The work is signed in the lower right corner. It is large in size and will make a statement wherever you choose to hang it. A very fashionable design at the time, it would look very attractive in any mid-century style home. It's a great vintage gift idea, a decorative piece and an ideal prop for a film, theater or television production. Approximate dimensions: frame: width - 86 cm height: 40 cm image: width - 76 cm height - 37 cm in very good condition, with only the signs of age that one would expect from a photo of this age.
