WMF, eight silver-plated knife rests, palmette decoration 1880

Eight silver-plated knife rests from the German manufacturer WMF (Wurttembergische Metallwarenfabrik). The company was founded in Geislingen in 1853. It specialised in the production of high-end serving utensils. The eight knife rests date from the 1880s. They are in the Empire style. The decoration of palmettes on the top and oak leaves on the sides adorns the items. They rest on four feet. The monogram IS of the former owner is engraved on each knife rest. The WMF master mark with the running ostrich, N and I/O OX are engraved under each piece. Very good condition, signs of use. Dimensions: height 2.5 cm, 10 cm X 2.9 cm. Weight without packaging: 169 g. Sold as a set.
