Antique glazed stoneware vinegar cruet – sponge blue decoration – circa 1880–192

Superb rustic stoneware vinegar cruet, decorated with a beautiful blue sponge-applied motif, typical of utilitarian wares from Eastern France (Jura/Doubs/Rhône Valley). Traditional truncated conical shape, two side handles, and a lower opening for a wooden tap (missing). The interior is fully glazed, with a lovely antique appearance and a subtle network of original cracks. No cracks, no restoration, in very good condition. A decorative and functional piece, ideal for a country kitchen, a bistro, or a collection of traditional stoneware.
