An icon of Scandinavian design. Check the seat of your Baumann sled chairs carefully before buying them. The original foam and elastic webbing upholstery wears out and then decomposes over the decades causing discomfort and a hollow or soft seat. Many sellers re-upholster these chairs without bothering to change the upholstery and webbing. Seat in cappuccino beige velvet, sled legs and headband-type backrest in solid beech stained mahogany. ✅️ restoration: The entire structure has been cleaned and treated. The seat of our 4 chairs has undergone a complete overhaul by a professional: the relaxed straps of the seats have been replaced by high-quality straps, the period upholstery which decomposes over time has been replaced by high-quality upholstery (bultex), the seat fabric has been replaced by cappuccino beige velvet. They are therefore in excellent condition, with a few slight marks of time (over 60 years old!) and a barely visible scratch to note on the back of the headband of one of the chairs. They are very comfortable and have no visible screws, testifying to a refined and successful design, typical Scandinavian.
