This stylish trolley, model 709, was designed by Danish designer and furniture maker Aksel Kjersgaard and produced by Odder Møbelfabrik in Denmark. The design dates from the 1960s and is a fine example of refined Danish Mid-Century Modern design from this period. The piece is made from beautiful teak and stands out because of its compact size, elegant lines, and surprisingly practical layout. The fixed top offers enough space for, for example, a turntable, while the drawers/compartments provide storage for LPs, music accessories, magazines, or other items. Thanks to the wheels, it can be easily moved. The beautifully rounded legs, carefully finished edges, and visible dove tail joints in the drawers underline the craftsmanship with which this piece is made. Model 709 is internationally often referred to as a phono trolley or sengebord, beautifully reflecting its original multifunctional character. Of course, the trolley can also be excellent as a stylish bar or serving trolley, side table, bedside table, or compact storage unit. It is precisely this versatility that makes the design particularly attractive even today. The warm pattern of the teak, the refined construction, and the understated design give the piece a timeless appearance that effortlessly fits both a Mid-Century and a contemporary interior. A compact Danish design where functionality, form, and high-quality craftsmanship come together beautifully. Country of origin: Denmark. Designer: Aksel Kjersgaard. Model: number 109. Period: 1960s.
