For sale is a set of six art deco high-backed oak chairs with green leather seats, manufactured in the first half of the 20th century (1920-30), attributable to the hague school (according to the auctioneer; certificate of authenticity and value transferable upon estimate). The set is in good general condition (seats in perfect condition, no holes or tears to report / oak structures in good condition, I.e. Slight discreet losses on the wood only). A very unique set (model not found on the market)! The haagse school (“the hague school”) is the name of a group of designers who lived and worked mainly in the hague (netherlands), who represented the functional and commercial direction of art deco. Their furniture, considered by many to be the height of modernity in the 1920s and 1930s, primarily met a demand for functionality: the functionality and solidity of the furniture took precedence over its form, a form characterized by simple, clean and linear contours. Dimensions (cm): 104.5 (h) X 43.5 (w) X 47 (d) X 47.5 (h seat). Weight (each): 6.5 kg. Origin & period: netherlands, c. 1920 - 1930. Overall condition: good (wear consistent with age and use). #office #bedroom #living room #dining room #contemporary style #vintage #retro style #brutalist style #design #modernist style #mid-century.
