The softshell office chair is part of the very extensive vitra collection and was conceived and created by the designer duo and brothers ronan & erwan bouroullec. Ronan is the older of the two and after his education at the école nationale des arts décoratifs in paris, he started working for himself. At that time he was still assisted by his brother erwan who is still studying at the école des beaux-arts in cergy-pontoise. Since 1999 they have become equal partners and run a design studio in paris. Inventing and making small everyday objects as well as architectural projects are part of their versatile field of activity. In the years 2000-2002 the collaboration with design label vitra begins. From that moment on, this phenomenal duo has made an essential contribution to the steadily growing vitra home collection.
