Bookcase in Solid Walnut, Louis XVI style – Mid-19th century

Solid walnut bookcase opening with two doors with knockout frames on the front revealing a fine molding around the two panes of glass making them up. These doors, mounted on three brass hinges, close using an original iron lock accompanied by two diamond-shaped entrances. Below, a knockout drawer is decorated with two brass drop handles with rosettes. On each side, the uprights have fixed grooves. This piece of furniture rests on four turned legs forming a top and ending in sabots. The sides of this bookcase are made up of two panels with moldings around the perimeter and uprights with fixed grooves as well. This piece of furniture is furnished with five shelves whose edge is in walnut. One of these shelves is positioned at the level of the central crossbar of the doors. The back of this glass bookcase is made of oak. ******** period: mid-19th century excellent condition after restoration in our workshop. Waxed finish.
