HB & C Balzac model ironstone plates

Set of three iron earthenware plates, Balzac model, IN THE STATE from the Hippolyte Boulenger earthenware factory known as Choisy-le-Roi, a large company at the beginning of the last century with 1,400 employees until its closure in 1936; but whose origins date back to 1804, founded by the Paillart brothers, then in association with Hautin, to end with the arrival of the Boulenger family. The iconic Balzac model has a dark blue festoon of small arabesque motifs, leaves, flowers, on the edges, on a creamy white background, reminiscent of the ornaments of the Louis XVI style. The plates show small chips and marks on the front as well as cracks on the back.
