Empire office chair with Egyptian headrests

Beautiful mahogany office chair in Empire / Egyptian Revival style, featuring elegant architecture and remarkable carved decoration. The straight armrests are supported by two carved uprights of female heads styled in an Egyptian manner, extended by stylised forms. The front legs end in powerful carved lion paws, characteristic of the Empire decorative vocabulary. The slightly curved high backrest and seat are upholstered in dark green leather, secured by a row of decorative nails. The backrest is adorned in its centre with an elegant golden floral motif. The overall line, both understated and imposing, is enhanced by carved details such as palmettes, rosettes, and geometric patterns. The leather of the seat shows significant wear, cracks, and tears, clearly visible in the photographs. The chair is offered in its current state, allowing for the possibility of restoring the upholstery while preserving its antique character.
