Description
This vase from the 30s is more than a vase. It is a real collector's item. It is in very good condition. Its creator, pierre d'avesn (whose life and work crossed the twentieth century: 1901-1990) was indeed a student of françois décorchemont but also collaborator for several years of rené lalique. Such references can not leave indifferent, especially when the student makes a place among the most famous master glassmakers of the prolific art deco period with the daum (he will also work there), delatte, sabino... And many more. Pierre d'avesn (pseudonym of pierre girre) composed all his life with glass for vases, lamps that today specialists dispute. This model with particularly stylized flowers probably dates from the 30s. According to the technique mastered by the artist, the molded pressed glass will be worked with the tool and then released with acid. This is what allows us to admire these extremely solar flowers in relief around the perimeter of this splendid vase with wonderfully balanced proportions for a wide open collar. This slightly satin glass of slightly blue color authenticated by signature at the bottom of the vase "p.d'avesn france" has some traces of limestone inside due to its use.
