1939 farm torchon in blue bed reserve raw hemp

Stamped 1939 with a stencil in black, the number still visible straddling the next tea towel, found in a pile of reserve hidden in the straw of a farm in haute loire. You have to love the wonderful materials and the objects, humble and tiny, that are part of a story larger than their own. Sublime in my opinion. Almost square: 67 X 70. Definitely immersed in cold water once just before the war, agree to start again.
