The coupe series, designed by joe colombo, was originally conceived as a variant of the spider family, daughter of the same designer, whose base and stem it retains. The simple and ingenious mechanism that connects the head to the base allows the light beam to be directed in different directions, moving the shade up, down and to the side. In 1968, the coupé won the "international design award" from the american institute of interior designers in chicago. It is part of the permanent collection of moma in new york and the neue sammlung museum in munich. The structure is composed of a white metal base with a semicircular base to glue the floor lamp against a wall. The chromed metal arch is adjustable in height and can rotate 180 ° to illuminate the chosen area. The position is fixed thanks to a handle on the back of the base. The lampshade is made of hemispherical lacquered aluminum with a slit on the upper side letting out a slight light beam. The switch is directly accessible on the lampshade. In good condition, content of age and use.
