Vintage coffee table in elm burl and walnut, black lacquer – 1970s

Superb vintage coffee table from the 1970s, remarkable for its spectacular work of elm and walnut burl veneer. The top features a beautiful play of natural grain, framed by several contrasting bands and highlighted by fine black inlays. Each part of the burl has its own nuances and movements, giving the table a particularly elegant depth. It rests on a wide central base in black lacquered wood, which adds a very graphic and almost architectural line to the whole. The contrast between the warmth of the burl and the glossy black gives it that sophisticated aesthetic characteristic of French interiors from the 70s. A striking piece, both warm and highly decorative, ideal in a contemporary, Art Deco, or seventies interior, paired with a boucle sofa, leather, chrome, or brass. Dimensions: L 123 × D 78 × H 36 cm. Very good overall vintage condition. Some light signs of use and small marks on the top, visible in the photographs, consistent with its age and not detracting from its overall beautiful appearance.
