A sure value of contemporary design contemporary elegance and architectural mastery come together in this sign 457 armchair, an emblematic model of italian contract furniture, designed in 2007 by daniele lo scalzo moscheri for pedrali, a benchmark in transalpine design since 1963, and awarded the same year the “top chair - residential” prize for the purity of its design and the rigor of its execution. In line with the post-minimalist line of the 2000s/2010s, the model combines a very architectural geometry - two closed lateral legs forming the base, armrests and rear cheeks - with generous padding that signifies high-end hotel comfort. The sloping angles and trapezoidal profile recall neo-brutalist codes, while the full/empty play of the side frames evokes the structural research of the end of italian modernism. The structure is made of solid oak, carefully sanded before receiving a wenge stain (warm brown-ebony coloring), a rare finish compared to the more common bleached oak or natural walnut variations. The seat and back, covered in a wool-polyamide fabric with a mottled light gray weave, are fully removable and rest on a molded hr polyurethane foam core, supported by crossed elastic straps - a guarantee of lasting elasticity. The underside is protected by a technical fabric screen-printed “pedrali - made in italy”, which is found only on the brand's original productions. -- dimensions (cm): 78 (h) X 59.5 (w) X 63 (d) X 46.5 (h seat) X 69.5 (h armrests at the point before upholstery).
