Aperitif tray with compartments

Very beautiful and large dish, or even tray since its ends are refined to act as handles. It has four compartments carved hollow in the wood. It will be perfect for presenting appetizers on the table at aperitif time, but can also find many other uses: empty pocket in the entrance or on a desk, receptacle for jewelry in the bedroom or for makeup in the bathroom... It has a pretty original shape, which evokes a leaf or a pod. It was carved from a very beautiful exotic wood (teak?) which has a magnificent veining with a very wide range of colors, ranging from light brown or very dark brown, with almost golden highlights. It certainly dates from the 70s, these exotic wood dishes were very popular there then. It had a few tiny stains (small dots), I cleaned it with very fine steel wool (which does not create any scratches) and I applied a very thin layer of paraffin oil (oil available in pharmacies, totally inert in contact with food) to protect it for many years and restore its original shine (a shine which was still very present even before that). It is in very good condition, no cracks, the only marks of its fifty years are: on the visible side, a very small abraded point on the edge and on the underside very rare small scratches or abrasions. It measures 37.5 cm in length, 23 cm in width and 3.8 cm in thickness.
