Description
Impressive and museum-style empire style parquet regulator clock mahogany circa 1880. Abundance in the ornamentation of gilded and carved bronzes such as egyptian caryatids, rosette-shaped motifs, putti playing on ribboned garlands, rinsels, friezes, medusa heads and imperial crowns. This parquet clock is composed of two parts: the upper part with a white enamelled dial centered and encircled with gilded bronze. Two caryatids surmounted by crowns frame the sides. Gilded wooden spheres are perched on the cornice on which is affixed an allegorical fresco. The lower part is presented as a console with a recessed bottom and a tablet has jump all resting on four front feet scandals ahead of a spacer shelf. Mahogany balls serve as a base for the whole. The mechanism works. This wonderful clock has been reviewed in our workshops. Size: Height: 210 cm. Length: 55 cm. Width: 39 cm.
