Park scene picture

Gender scene in a park. A young couple in an 18th century costume can be seen walking around a park holding hands. On the left, some architectural elements, with a silhouette sculpture at the bottom. The characters are painted in a very delicate way: we see the folds of the fabrics, in thin lines, and the faces make the skin tone. The whole respects perspective. And all this, on a board, mahogany wood (still!) of 18cmx13cm. It is a french school, unsigned, at the end of the 19th century. Now let's move on to the less glamorous aspects. This little painting has come to us in its juice for more than a century. He underwent one or more layers of varnish that can be seen closely in the form of traces -18x13cm - from a distance, hanging on a wall, we no longer see them. The frame, made of wood and gilded stucco, is a little spread over the corners. The stucet has broken up in some places, as can be seen in the photos. It is gilded with gold leaf.
