Low curtain cabinet in dark wood

Oak curtain cabinet, office filing furniture. France, circa 1920–1940. Structure in stained brown solid oak, resting on a plinth base. Curtain with horizontal slats sliding upwards, brass key lock at the top. Interior composed of five removable shelves on runners, light wood back. Back made of untreated raw wood planks. A type of furniture characteristic of French offices and administrations between the wars, known as a "curtain filing cabinet" or "sauterel." Height: 91 cm. Width: 43 cm. Depth: 36 cm. Homogeneous old patina. Functional curtain. Minor wear and scratches consistent with age. Will need to be stabilised in its new environment.
