Living room table signed Metgé, marble top

Marble top, 2.5cm thick, rounded corners, bec de corbin edges, shades; white, garnet, gray. Structure in carved solid walnut, hand-carved bands and feet. Acanthus leaf and flower decorations. Arched base in the louis XV style, roller ends on a crowbar. Very good general condition, remarkable finishing work. Uncracked tray without impact, some discreet marks of time. Naturally shaded wood structure, a few scratches from use (one large on close-up) not visible in the overall view. Auguste metgé was a cabinetmaker, restorer and distinguished designer from the beginning of the 20th century. He studied at the school of fine arts, to acquire sculpture techniques. He took over the family workshop in revel (81) where this table was made.
