Description
Limoges porcelain art deco ball vase by camille tharaud. Camille tharaud had developed a technique of large fire enamel on raw porcelain, a technique that had been awarded at the 1925 exhibition of decorative arts. This process gives depth to enamels, intensity to colors and velvetiness to the material. It is certainly simone lam who decorated this vase with intense green enamels, applied in frieze, on a brown background with metallic effects. This vase is marked under the base of the factory stamp of limoges and that of camille tharaud. Note a lack of enamel.
