Vase olivier pettit. Paris/vallauris. "in parallel to his studies at the ecole des beaux arts in paris in the sculpture section, olivier pettit started ceramics as a self-taught artist. In 1947, in one of the letters addressed to his uncle charles pettit, he recalled his meeting with colette gueden, who commissioned him, for primavera, several unique pieces signed including tables, decorative elements and motifs. In the 1950s, olivier pettit stayed several summers in vallauris. In the first year, he worked with his friend roger capron while designing on his own creations. In 1955, he was awarded the silver medal at the international exhibition of modern ceramics, and again in 1966 at the first national art ceramics competition in vallauris. This is the time when he has fun creating figurines including a series of pin-ups (all unique pieces) sold with great success in the shops of the côte d'azur and of which he regrets not having kept any copies. He created several decorative wall panels, including an order for the ministry of finance in paris, tables, light fixtures and many decorative objects." Stunning state. Dimensions: 25x16 cm.
