Set of vintage wooden armchairs and braided rope with a matching table. Spain, 60s

The design of the seats is inspired by the iconic piece that spanish architect josep torres clavé designed in 1934 to be part of the furniture that was to house the pavilion of the spanish republic at the 1937 paris international exhibition, alongside pablo picasso's guernica and other works by alexander calder or joan miró. Restored: they have been varnished to consolidate the remains of old paint while retaining the original patina. Reinforced and solid structure. The joints do not move despite their years. The rope braid is in very good condition.
