A pair of Alvar Aalto's Model 406 armchairs with leather seats. The Model 406 was produced in limited quantities and for a short period with this quilted leather finish. This finish has not been produced for many years. Model: 406 created in 1939. Brand: Artek. Year of manufacture: 1970s. Country of manufacture: Finland. Material: Black leather and varnished birch. Condition: Very good vintage condition. Some wear to the leather on the back of one armchair. A minor repair on the seat.
