Wooden Armchair with Scroll Arms, Cross Back and Cream Upholstered Seat

Offered by Antik Center Berlin, specialists in European fine art, antique furniture and decorative objects. Elegant wooden armchair with sweeping scroll-shaped armrests, an open cross-back and a cream-coloured upholstered seat. Its warm wood tones and sculptural silhouette give the chair a distinctive presence, while the open backrest keeps the overall appearance light and balanced. The curved armrests are the defining feature of this piece. Each flows into a pronounced inward scroll, creating an expressive profile that is particularly attractive when viewed from the side. The gently curved top rail frames the backrest, with slender crossed wooden elements providing a contrast to the fuller curves of the arms. Fine linear detailing along the backrest elements and seat rail adds further definition to the wooden frame. The shaped front legs continue the flowing lines of the chair, bringing the different elements together in a harmonious design. The cream-coloured fabric upholstery provides a soft visual contrast to the richly toned wood. Its understated woven texture complements the frame without distracting from the grain and decorative details. An appealing accent chair for a study, bedroom or entrance hall, or as an individual seat beside a writing desk. Its combination of expressive curves, an open back and neutral upholstery lends itself to both traditionally furnished rooms and interiors that mix older furniture with contemporary pieces.
