Strafor waiting bench, two seats, 1970s. The original label is still attached under the seat: Strafor, ref. 444-240. That is to say, the forges of Strasbourg, about an hour from our Alsatian workshop — office furniture that was commonly found in the lobbies and waiting rooms throughout the region. The base is a sled made of black lacquered steel tubing, in one piece, supporting the two cantilevered seats. Backrests mounted on black shells. Original upholstery in orange wool, never reupholstered: the colour is vibrant, a brick orange from the decade, and the fabric is still dense to the touch. Very good condition. The wool is clean and sound, the foams are intact, and the tube has neither dents nor rust. Normal signs of use on the black shells, nothing that stands out. In a home, it fits in an entrance, a wide corridor, or the wall of an office. The cantilever design makes it appear to float above the floor: it occupies space without weighing down the room. Dimensions: width 122 cm, height 80 cm, depth 72 cm, seat height 40 cm. Two available, in the same condition.
