Venetian Mirror with Shutters Renaissance Style – Bevelled Painted Glass – 19th Century

Large Venetian mirror with closed panels in Renaissance style, architecturally framed with a rectangular structure organised around a central oval bevelled mirror, dimensions 133 x 83 cm, weight 30 kg. The frame is composed of multiple glass plates engraved with patterns of flutes, beads, and lenses. The corners of the bevelled glass are adorned with polychrome enamel painting featuring acanthus motifs, scrolls, and flowers in blue, orange, red, pink, and green tones. The upper crest displays volutes and acanthus leaves in moulded and bevelled glass, surmounting an oval enamelled cartouche. Floral appliqués in moulded glass embellish the corners and the perimeter of the oval frame. The back is made of original raw wood. Overall condition is good. There are small pitting and slight wear on the silvering of the glass plates applied at the bottom, characteristic of age. A broken plate has been re-glued and is noted at the bottom right of the oval, with no missing parts. No significant restoration work is to be reported otherwise.
