French side table from the 1950s, made of solid exotic wood (ipe). The structure features a clever system of 8 wedges, assembled by interlocking, without hardware. The table has two levels and handles integrated into the uprights. Embodying the functional and versatile design of the post-war reconstruction era, this rare piece recalls the work of rené gabriel, a leading figure in mid-century french utilitarian furniture.
