Head of Poseidon neo classical God Greco-Roman cast ancient copper casting

Poseidon's head, a copper cast after artemision's poseidon monumental bronze statue discovered in 1928 off the cape of artemision, greece. Here the bronze is represented by a copper work molded on a plaster matrix, hollow, finely welded, patinated with a green shade of gray that covers the tense and sound material. Poseidon's head is originally turned to the right, almost in profile and like all antique heads it really benefits from an installation slightly in height - higher than the angle of shooting here - a fireplace mantle or even a little higher, which gives it its strength, angle wanted by the sculpture project. Height 25cm. Depth 18cm. Remarkable and of reasonable weight.
