Suite of 5 Nuova X Line Omli Chairs for Magis, by Niels Joergen Haugesen – 1980

Beautiful set of stackable chairs from the nueva X line omli range, designed by niels jorgen haugesen in the late 1970s and manufactured in italy in 1980 by magis. These chrome-plated metal chairs are characterized by their clean and minimalist design. The backrests and seats are made of black perforated steel. The geometric x-shaped base is both airy and very solid. It allows the chairs to be perfectly stacked. Each chair is stamped: "nueva X line omli for magis - made in italy" niels jørgen haugesen (1936) is a danish cabinetmaker and designer. After studying at the danish design school in 1961, haugesen worked briefly with arne jacobsen (1966 - 1971) before opening his own design studio in 1971. From 1980 to 1995, he worked in collaboration with gunvor haugesen. Niels haugesen has been teaching at the danish school of design since 1976. The xylophone range of wooden garden furniture is among his best-known works. Magis: since its founding in 1976 in the veneto region, magis has embodied the spirit of italian industrial design.
