Here is a lovely shallow tub chair, fully upholstered in shimmering blue velvet. It is stout, broad, and comfortable. The original fabric is in good condition. Note a tiny barely visible snag on the seat. It will benefit from a simple shampoo to restore its natural shine. The velvet is secured with gold-coloured upholstery nails. The structure, also in good condition, is made of solid wood, with wooden dowels, and the legs are stylised. Its backrest follows the shape of the back. Timeless, this chair, rich in history, never goes out of style and effortlessly complements many current decor styles. Its compact size adds to its appeal. Dimensions: height 87 cm, depth 70 cm, width 58 cm, seat height 35 cm, seat depth 45 cm. For a bit of history: the tub chair appeared around 1830 under the sign of comfort, during the Louis-Philippe period and then in the Second Empire. It gets its name from the animal, due to its compact shape on short legs.
