Round coffee table in rattan and metal revisited

Charming coffee table from the 50s and 60s with a black lacquered tubular metal base combined with a rattan-circled top. I revisited this table, whose top was stained and marked, by covering it with an adhesive vinyl, which has the effect of giving it dapper with this blue between turquoise and duck blue (a chouia more turquoise in reality than in the photos). In addition, when this color has gone out of fashion or you have a desire for change, it will be enough to replace the vinyl; ) the table is in good structural condition: intact welds, the rust that I sanded partly on the frame was only superficial, the original skates are present. But it does not hide its age and obviously presents the patina of time and use: gaps on the paint of the structure with still a little rust (superficial therefore). The tray, a kind of very thin plywood, is slightly curved. It had various marks, stripes and "punches" forming many small reliefs that remain "visible" under the new vinyl, despite prior sanding. We feel them to the touch, and we see them a little according to the direction of the light, but this is the lot of most revisits. The vinyl being 45 cm wide and the tray being in places wider by barely a millimeter, I preferred to distribute this small lack between the two sides, rather than put a joint in the middle using two strips of vinyl, thus revealing in two places, one in front of the other, the bare tray on half a millimeter (not very visible). The second strapping, which was used to hide the joint between the rattan and the tray seems to me to be a little distorted: it does not move, but the joint is therefore not or no longer perfect: in places, it reveals a space between the rattan lathe and the tray. This table measures 45 cm in height, and 51 cm in diameter, it weighs about 1.8 kg.
