Danish teak vanity chest by Peter Hvidt and Orla Mølgaard-Nielsen for Soborg, 1950s

A lovely example of a soborg model 307 vanity chest designed by peter hvidt and orla mølgaard-nielsen in the 1956. This beautiful piece is incredibly well made using solid teak with carved handles and on this particular model the top drawer front folds down and pulls out to reveal a dressing table with flip up mirror and 6 small drawers. The item has been refinished with oil and is generally in very good condition with the odd sign of wear and tear. It has had a few cosmetic repairs to the top front and back corners and has had two new legs made for the back. The drawers all run smoothly and the drop down mechanism still works very well but the top compartment can be a little stiff to slide in and out. The mirror has it original glass which shows signs of age related marks.
