Asia or india around 1900: palanquin seat called "howdah", elephant saddle. Was used to transport wealthy people to hunting parties and wedding ceremonies. Symbol of great wealth, the "howdah" could be carved and sometimes decorated with colorful draperies. Can be perfectly used in bench and be embellished with some cushions. Decorations of columns in gallery, spinning tops and sculptures on the front and back of the seat. H84 X 153 X 71.
